How to Make Bebo Skinz Part 2

Naming your Bebo Skinz correctly is very important, actually it crucial. If you name them incorrectly you CAN’T even upload them to Bebo. Please see the chart below taken from this page on Bebo.com for exact names and file sizes.

So you’ve now gone to Photoshop to make a new Bebo Skin and:
1.Click “File”
2.Click “New”
3. Do this with all 7 modules sizing them and naming them as below sizes in the chart.

Now comes a secret. As you experiment with Skins for Bebo you will get the feel of what you can do to trick out the different modules. The MOST IMPORTANT module starting out to master is the “Main Background” Module. It is a sweet Bebo Skins technique to actually fade the bottom of the graphic on this module to a solid color. REMEMBER you CAN control the height of this module depending on the graphic in the admin section of bebo in the “Padding” section. Note: Most of our padding is between 275-320 pixels. In the following post – even more tricks!

How to Make Bebo Skinz

So you want to make Bebo Skinz? First, you have to have a bebo account. Now your ready to get the creative juices flowing and begin to create your first bebo skin. There are rules and tricks that will really get you on the right track. This posts and the posts to follow will cover everything you need to know to get you on your way to making skins for bebo.

To get started you are going to need some software, I know of two that are popular “Paint” and “Photoshop”. In this article we are using Photoshop, because it is the best and Paint is crap. The newest version of Adobe Photoshop is CS3, but if you can get your hands on an older version, that is fine.

The first thing you need to know about making bebo skinz is there are 7 modules. Here is a link from Bebo that describes these 7 in detail. It is also important to make note of their files sizes which we will touch on later. The next thing to do is go into photoshop and set up your 7 modules in the sizes below at 72 dpi:

1. Navigation Background – 760×40 pixels
2. Main Background – 760×375 pixels
3. Main Footer – 11×15 pixels
4. Main Icon – 20×20 pixels
5. Module Header – 375×44 pixels
6. Module Background – 375×50 pixels
7. Module Line – 32×3 pixels
